del.icio.us bookmark search engine

Q. What is del.izzy?

del.izzy is a search engine for your del.icio.us bookmarks. We don't just search through the titles of your bookmarks, we search through the contents of each bookmarked page or site. This is what sets us apart!

Q. Why did you create del.izzy?

So many times we forget that we have this wealth of knowledge at our fingertips; our bookmarks. We stumbled accross great information once and then bookmarked it. Let's utilize it.

Eg. I remember I found a great site about Icons once, but I can't remember the title of the page or site. del.izzy solves this dilemma. Simply login and do a search for "icons".

Q. What do you mean by "We don't store your del.icio.us password, just your bookmarks."?

Exactly that. We don't store your password, just your username and bookmarks.

We need your credentials to check when your bookmarks were last updated and to get all your bookmarks, not just your public bookmarks.

We do this to cache your bookmarks so that we don't get them every time you want to use del.izzy; it makes using del.izzy much faster.

Q. Any other privacy issues that I need to know about?

We don't think so, but if you have any questions, feel free to send us an email using the link to "General" below.

Q. How long did it take to create del.izzy?

This is the awesome bit. It took roughly 3 days. We did it as an experiment to see if it's possible. It's possible!

Q. Why should I use del.izzy?

You should use del.izzy if it's useful to you. It's useful to us, hopefully it's useful to you too.

Q. Everything seems to be fine, but I'm not getting any results for any search that I do. What's going on?

Sometimes Google takes a little time to create your search engine. Give it a few minutes to digest the first time you log in.

Q. I can't search through one or more of my bookmarks! What's going on?

This is an interesting one. We leverage Google's awesome power of search, but sometimes even their search tools don't behave as they should.

Drop us a line with the offending bookmark using the link to "Bugs" below.
